Script

Your script appears here, and you can edit it.

Tip: give the writer the facts you want included — names, dates, the call to action. It won’t invent them.

Writing for the ear: the rules the script writer follows

  1. One idea per sentence. Listeners can’t re-read. If a sentence has a comma and an “and”, it can usually be two.
  2. Front-load the point. “Save two hours a week — here’s how” beats “Here’s how, with a few small changes, you could save two hours a week.”
  3. Say numbers as people say them. “Nearly half” is easier to hear than “48.7 percent”.
  4. Mark the turn. One stressed word per sentence tells the voice where the meaning is: “It’s not the price. It’s the *time*.”
  5. Leave air. A [pause 1s] before a call to action gives it weight — and gives your editor a clean cut point.

The length target comes from the same maths as our words-to-minutes calculator. For the markup, see the SSML and pause guide.

Questions people ask

How long should a voiceover script be?

Budget about 150 words per minute of finished audio: roughly 75 words for 30 seconds, 150 for a minute and 450 for three minutes. Slower, more deliberate reads (tutorials, luxury brands) need 10–20% fewer words.

What makes a good voiceover script?

It is written for the ear: short sentences, one idea per sentence, everyday words, numbers written the way they are spoken, and a clear call to action. Read it aloud once — anything you trip over, a listener will too.

Is the AI script writer free?

Yes, with a fair-use limit of 20 scripts per hour. It uses OpenAI’s gpt-6-luna model through Vercel AI Gateway. Nothing is stored after the script is written.

Can I turn the script into audio?

Yes. Press "Voice this script" and it loads into the text to speech studio with its pauses and emphasis intact, ready to render as an MP3.

Will it make up facts?

It is instructed not to invent statistics, prices, quotes or claims about real companies. Always check any factual line before you publish, and give it the facts you want included in the brief.
