What makes Portuguese sound right
Brazilian and European Portuguese share a spelling but sound very different: Brazilians open their vowels and turn "t" and "d" before "i" into "ch" and "j" sounds (tia sounds like "chia"), while European Portuguese swallows many unstressed vowels.
