VoiceForge is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Data Collection

We follow a privacy-first, local-first approach:

  • No Account Required: You can use VoiceForge without creating an account or providing personal information.
  • Local Storage Only: Your text inputs, conversion history, and preferences are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device.
  • No Server-Side User Data: We do not store your personal content, text inputs, or generated audio files on our servers.

AI Processing

When you generate speech from text, we process your request through third-party AI services:

  • Provider: Vercel AI Gateway (powered by OpenAI)
  • Data Sent: Text content you submit for conversion, selected voice preferences, and language settings
  • Purpose: To generate text-to-speech audio output
  • Retention: Text is processed transiently and not stored by us. Refer to OpenAI's privacy policy for their data handling practices.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand general site usage patterns. This service collects:

  • Anonymized page views and navigation patterns
  • General device and browser information
  • No personally identifiable information (PII)

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for:

  • Essential site functionality (session management)
  • Analytics (Ahrefs Web Analytics)
  • Your preferences (voice selection, settings)

Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Clear History: Delete all locally stored data at any time through the history panel
  • Browser Storage: Clear browser data to remove all VoiceForge information
  • No Account Deletion Needed: Since we don't require accounts, there's nothing to delete from our servers

Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following services:

  • Vercel AI Gateway / OpenAI: For text-to-speech generation
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics: For privacy-focused analytics
  • Google AdSense: For advertising (no PII shared)

Children's Privacy

VoiceForge does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
